Dani’s Review DNF @ 19% This review comes as a surprise to me. I didn’t think I’d love this book, but I thought I’d like it well enough. And it started out on the path of 3 stars, which is good in my opinion. (4 is great, 5 is OMFGAMAZING.) But it quickly lost steam. After Darius discovered his powers in chapter 1, nothing really happened. It was all very repetitive, with Darius getting angry thanks to his new powers, reacting and then regretting getting angry. I got so bored of him regretting everything. I also didn’t feel like the […]

The Convince Me to Read Review will be a review of the novel plus a section on why we think the other would enjoy it. Both books open with the main character in the middle of scanning through people’s minds, with someone waiting around for them to finish up. Except I looooved THE BONE SEASON, so I guess this book had the disadvantage of coming to my attention second. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I’m not sure if I would have been able to give it more of a chance if I wasn’t tired, but honestly, I am busy and […]

About Convince Me To Read Reviews While we have fairly similar tastes, sometimes we need a little push to read a certain book. The Convince Me to Read Review will be a review of the novel plus a section on why we think the other would enjoy it. Dani’s review THE READER was incredible! I knew it would be special when I read the blurb. A book about a book in a world where books really do hold magic that only a select few can access? Yes, please! And I was not disappointed. Sure, it wasn’t perfect, but the concept […]
