Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It is a weekly meme to showcase the books we have bought, borrowed, received for review, or were given as a gift. As well, we will tell you a bit about the past week and what to expect in the upcoming week!
I mean, really, the biggest thing that happened to me was that my copy of A COURT OF MIST AND FURY by Sarah J. Maas arrived. Does anything else matter? I also got my preorder tote, and it was beautiful.
Without actually discussing it, Jamie and I each separately went on NetGalley to update things, and I maaaay have requested a few books. I was approved for AND I DARKEN by Kiersten White, THE OUTLIERS by Kimberly McCreight and THE LONELINESS OF DISTANT BEINGS by Kate Ling. I was also sent IGNITED HEARTS ON FIRE and SOME BOY by Jenna Cox.
When I updated my stats on NetGalley, I went on a bit of a requesting spree. I received BLACK RIVER FALLS by Jeff Hirsch for review!
I won a copy of MY BEST EVERYTHING by Sarah Tomp during YASH, so I picked that up this week in the USA. While I was over the border, I also picked up WILD SWANS by Jessica Spotswood, GIRL LAST SEEN by Heather Anastasiu and Anne Greenwood Brown, THE FIRE SERMON by Francesca Haig, and QUEEN OF HEARTS by Colleen Oakes. You know why? Because I have no self control in B&N. I then went to Chapters and picked up a copy of NIGHT SPEED by Chris Howard because I saved money if I bought a card with it??? Idk it seemed logical at the time. I also picked up THE GLASS ARROW by Kristen Simmons and INK AND BONE by Rachel Caine when I went to BookOutlet. DON’T JUDGE ME.
My pre-order of JERKBAIT by Mia Siegert came in along with my pre-order of NOBODY’S LADY by Amy McNulty! My doodled THE RAVEN KING by Maggie Stiefvater came in with my glorious signed book plate and I cried.
I also received my pre-order swag for SUMMER OF SLOANE by Erin L. Schneider including a signed bookplate!
