She didn't expect to fall for her best friend.
He was always waiting to catch her.
Corinne Bennett lives in the moment. Whether she's skydiving out of an airplane, or setting off on the road to anywhere, she's ready to dive into the next adventure. That is, if best friend and always-by-the-book Nicholas Kelley doesn't put his foot down on her wild stunts first.
When Corinne gives in to her growing feelings for Nicholas the summer before their freshman year of college, she takes the ultimate risk, making this one adventure he has longed to explore with her.
But the moment they take that irrevocable leap, a shocking revelation blindsides Corinne, exposing her vulnerabilities, baring her fears, and shattering her beliefs about love. With their future—and most importantly, their friendship—now clouded in doubt, she must decide if love is really worth the risk.
Because when it comes to love, you never stop falling.
Interview with Ashley Drew
BAMF: What inspired NEVER STOP FALLING?
Ashley Drew: I wish I could say that it was personal experience that inspired my idea (because that would be so utterly romantic!), but I can’t say that it was. I’ve always been a fan of the “friends-to-lovers” and “second-chance romance” tropes in fiction, so when I finally decided to start writing, I knew that I wanted to incorporate these two themes into my story. Although the premise for Never Stop Falling is completely fictional, I found ways to weave in little things from my personal life into the story. For example—the setting. I was born in Santa Cruz, California, a beach town just south of the San Francisco Bay Area, and I spent the first few years of my life there. The town is quaint and picturesque, and is known for its boardwalk and amazing surf, which is why I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for a good romance.
BAMF: What was your favourite scene to write in NEVER STOP FALLING?
Ashley Drew: This is a tough question because I think I enjoyed writing just about every scene in the book! If I had to choose one, it would have to be the chapter when Nicholas and Corinne take a road trip down to Big Sur. I actually made the trip myself as part of my research and wrote the chapter during that time. My parents took me there as a kid, but I didn’t care enough back then to fully appreciate all of its beauty! It’s definitely a place that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. Even though this was one of my favorite chapters to write, it was truly a challenge because it’s difficult to put in words the beauty surrounding that part of the California coastline. The scenery is absolutely stunning.
BAMF: What did you learn while writing NEVER STOP FALLING?
Ashley Drew: I learned that writing a book is not simple! Who am I kidding? I knew it wasn’t going to be an easy task! I’ve always had respect for authors, but it wasn’t until I finished writing Never Stop Falling that I really understood the dedication and determination one must have to complete such a goal. I’ve always been a “go-getter”—when I want something, I go for it, and throughout this entire process, I was determined to see this story all the way through to the end. Writing this book allowed me to see what I’m capable of.
BAMF: What do you hope readers take from NEVER STOP FALLING?
Ashley Drew: My only hope is that readers enjoy the story as much as I enjoyed writing it. If they learn something from it or if they identify with any of the characters in some way, that would be pretty cool, but I didn’t write it with any sort of agenda in mind. I just want them to have fun with it and hopefully be satisfied with the story that’s given to them!
BAMF: What crazy stunt is on your bucket list?
Ashley Drew: Skydiving! I’ve always wanted to do it. I just don’t know if I actually have the courage to finally take the plunge! I’m certainly no Corinne Bennett!
