Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It is a weekly meme to showcase the books we have bought, borrowed, received for review, or were given as a gift. As well, we will tell you a bit about the past week and what to expect in the upcoming week!

Dani’s Haul
This has actually been a slow week on the book front for me! I only got one physical book: my preorder of WE ARE THE ANTS by Shaun David Hutchinson. I also bought NOBODY’S GODDESS by Amy McNulty because Jamie told me to! I always do what Jamie says because she knows me better than I know myself sometimes.
As for ARCs, I was approved for NOT IF I SEE YOU FIRST by Eric Lindstrom (pub. December 31st 2015) and FLAWED by Cecilia Ahern (pub. March 24th 2016). Whoop whoop! I also received review copies for some of the blog tours I’m participating in: FACSIMILE by Vicki L. Weavil and EVANESCENT by Gabriella Lapore.
Iris’s Haul
I stacked only a single book this week, THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS by Rae Carson, but I’m expecting more next week!
Jamie’s Haul
I’m still officially on a book buying ban for this year, but I splurged and got a paperback copy of VICIOUS by V.E. Schwab before I met her in Michigan for an event. My thinking was, “well, I should have her sign all the books since I’m probably only going to meet her once.” At said event, I also picked up a copy of TIME SALVAGER by Wesley Chu (because same thinking as before). I had a big comic haul where I picked up the first two volumes of CHEW, the fourth volume of SAGA, and two volumes of ATTACK ON TITAN.
I was approved on NetGalley for BURNING MIDNIGHT by Will McIntosh, which releases February 2nd, so I will be reading that this week. I also received the book WYTCHFIRE by Michael Meyerhofer for review from Red Adapt Publishing (thank you!).

Last Week’s Top Stories
This week, we shared our excitement for THE LOVE THAT SPLIT THE WORLD by Emily Henry. Jamie also reviewed NOBODY’S GODDESS by Amy McNulty!
Watch For Next Week
Next Saturday is pretty big for us. We’ll be sharing with your our first ever BAMF Review, a joint review by all three of us of CARRY ON by Rainbow Rowell! This, by the way, includes a video…a big move for all three of us. We talked for over three hours, an hour of which was recorded. Dani is now in the process of editing said video down to a more manageable and less blooper/tangent-filled state, which is quite the adventure for her. (No, she is not a video pro, so she may have less hair at the end of next week…)
Books releasing next week include:
- THE MEMORY OF LIGHT by Francisco X. Stork – YA contemporary
- ANY OTHER GIRL by Rebecca Phillips – YA contemporary
- ALL THE BIRDS IN THE SKY by Charlie Jane Anders – Fantasy, which Dani has preordered
- I’M FROM NOWHERE by Suzanne Myers – YA contemporary
- THE LOVE THAT SPLIT THE WORLD by Emily Henry – YA fantasy, which we’re all going to be reading
- ARROWS by Melissa Gorzelanczyk – YA contemporary with a mythology slant
- THE MYSTERY OF HOLLOW PLACES by Rebecca Podos – YA mystery
- IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT by Paul Rudnick – YA contemporary, rumoured to be very hilarious
- SHALLOW GRAVES by Kali Wallace – YA horror, which Dani will not read because she’s a wimp
- THE POSSIBILITY OF NOW by Kim Culbertson – YA contemporary
- THE YEAR WE FELL APART by Emily Martin – YA contemporary
And now…our most exciting news for the next week…
To celebrate our launch, we’re giving TWO lucky winners the chance to win some Truthwitch goodies! (That’s TRUTHWITCH by Susan Dennard, if you’ve been living under a rock and haven’t seen the hype machine in full swing for six months.) The giveaway is open internationally, and the winner will be announced in our next Stacking the Shelves!
I was approved for Not If I See You First as well. Really good read.
I love this feature. Loved hearing what everyone got this week. I’ve placed myself on a book buying ban until I work through some of my TBR pile. So you know, I only bought one book and preordered another 🙂
I am also on a book buying ban! I hope you can last without buying too much 😉 What book did you pre-order?
– Jamie
Book buying bans never last……..
Very excited for Truthwitch!

Great titles in everyone’s book haul; almost all of those are on my TBR so I’m really looking forward to reading all of your reviews.I understand the need for a book ban so your reading pile doesn’t threaten to smother you in an avalanche but how anyone has the will to actually stick to their book ban is beyond me!
Uuuugh! I haven’t read Truthwith yet coz it’s sooo pricey here in my country. 🙁 So thank you so much for the chance. And you guys have great hauls!

Hi! I loved Vicious! Vicious is amazing and one of the best books I’ve ever read. Also, who is your friend? Maybe I met her!

Glad to hear you like it so much! I think I’m getting it for my bday so hopefully will be able to read it soon. Her name’s Maraia.
I totally met her there! What a small world, eh? If you do get it for your birthday, be sure to let me know what you think!
I will let you know what I think when I’ve read it! It has been on my wishlist for ages, and it was discounted on a Dutch online store, so I pounced on it. Don’t know yet when I’ll read it, but you’ll be sure to hear about it 😉

Attack on Titan gives me lifeeeee!
– Jamie
I would love to read Truthwitch, because I love fantasy novels and the storyline really appeals to me (a story about strong young women)! I have not read any books that had witches in it other than Harry Potter so far, but I would really like to read about other worlds (something totally different). Also, the reviewers loved the book, so I am sure the writing style is great as well!
I haven’t read Truthwitch but I’m excited to read it. I also can’t wait to read Arrows and The Love That Split the World.
I’m excited for The Love That Split the World, Truthwitch, Shallow Graves, and The Year We Fell Apart. =D
I’m so excited to read Truthwitch! Can’t wait to see what Susan’s got for this story. Hopefully, it will get translated in Portuguese, but yeah, I don’t want to wait for that to be able to read it lol xD
I haven’t read Truthwitch yet, but I am super excited to!
I have not read Truthwitch, but I am jumping with joy and excitement for it! I am thrilled and looking forward to reading it. I know the story is going to be extraordinary! I haven’t read any of the books you named, but I’m very excited to read; THE GIRL OF FIRE AND THORNS by Rae Carson and also Truthwitch!!
I may have been living under a rock to ignore the hype for Truthwitch. And I feel so bad. I hope I could change it this year though. I’m now putting it on the top of my TBR <3
I have yet to read any of the books from your list, but super excited to get my hands on Truthwitch, The Year We Fell Apart and The Love That Split the World.
